A police constable accused of abducting and raping a woman he met on TikTok has been granted $500,000 bail after his attorney argued in court that the sexual encounter was consensual.
The 23-year-old officer, whose name is being withheld, was offered bail when he appeared in the St Catherine Parish Court on Tuesday.
He faces charges of rape and abduction and was granted bail with strict reporting conditions following a successful application by King's Counsel Peter Champagnie.
