Career opportunities for young people, foreign exchange shortages, economic challenges, and innovation were among the issues raised by concerned citizens at the United National Congress (UNC) town hall meeting on Thursday night.
Citizens simply wanted reassurance from Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar that if she returns to government their issues would be dealt with.
The event, held at the La Joya Sporting Complex auditorium, St Joseph, saw scores of people listening attentively to Persad-Bissessar, who was joined by former PNM MP and government minister Kennedy Swaratsingh, UNC chairman Dave Tancoo and former energy minister Kevin Ramnarine, who all addressed the gathering on the UNC’s economic plan and policies should the party return to power.
