On Tuesday morning, ASJA Boys College in San Fernando, on its Facebook page announced the death of English teacher Fariza Mohammed.
“It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs Fariza Mohammed, Teacher III (English) at our college. Miss Fariza as she was affectionately called, was a dedicated teacher who always placed her students' well-being first, even ahead of her own at times. Miss Fariza began her journey at the college in 2002 and her dedication and love for her students positively shaped the lives of many. Her passing leaves an enormous void at the college. Our deepest condolences go out to her family in this very difficult time. May Allah SWT grant them ease, strength and comfort,” the post read.
News of her passing has prompted an outpouring of tributes from current and former students, many of whom credited her with helping them navigate challenges both inside and outside the classroom.
