A hiking excursion to Blanchisseuse ended in tragedy on Friday when a 52-year-old Princes Town man collapsed and died despite efforts by fellow hikers, emergency responders and medical personnel to save him.
Renold Ramdial, 52, of St Croix Road, Princes Town, was pronounced dead when taken to a medical facility for treatment.
The Express was told by police sources that Ramdial travelled to Blanchisseuse on Thursday evening as part of a hiking group. Members of the group spent the night in the area and prepared to continue their activities yesterday morning.
