The Judiciary of Trinidad and Tobago has defended the use of police stations to hold virtual hearings of charged individuals.
This follows concerns raised by the Government that police stations are being used as courtrooms.
The Judiciary responded yesterday, stating that the arrangement does not convert stations into courtrooms, but “just puts the accused in front of a computer for a virtual appearance”.
