Aston Villa sign Swiss World Cup star Manzambi

LONDON, United Kingdom (AFP)—Aston Villa announced the signing of Switzerland World Cup star Johan Manzambi from German side Freiburg on Friday for a reported club record fee of just over £50 million ($67 million).
Midfielder Manzambi arrives after an impressive World Cup campaign in which he scored three times and provided two assists in four games before suffering an injury.
Switzerland reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup before losing to eventual finalists Argentina.
