Po­lit­i­cal com­men­ta­tor and poll­ster Dr Mwale Hen­ry says the es­ca­lat­ing in­ter­nal con­flict with­in the Peo­ple’s Na­tion­al Move­ment (PNM) is ex­pos­ing a wider prob­lem of in­dis­ci­pline and lead­er­ship with­in the Op­po­si­tion par­ty.

Speak­ing on CNC3’s The Morn­ing Brew yes­ter­day, Hen­ry said his as­sess­ment of the PNM’s han­dling of the dis­pute in­volv­ing San Fer­nan­do East MP Bri­an Man­ning was based sole­ly on the par­ty’s pub­lic state­ments and ac­tions, but ar­gued that the re­sponse so far raised se­ri­ous ques­tions.

The con­tro­ver­sy has in­ten­si­fied in re­cent days, with the San Fer­nan­do East con­stituen­cy ex­ec­u­tive, in­clud­ing chair­man Pa­tri­cia Alex­is, re­sign­ing amid the pro­longed im­passe with Man­ning.
