Cooperatives are continuing to prove that collective enterprise can be a powerful driver of economic growth and community development. As Trinidad and Tobago joined the global observance of the 104th International Day of Cooperatives, the movement highlighted the sectorâs contribution to building a more resilient, inclusive and prosperous nation under the theme âCooperatives for a Peaceful World.â
Bringing remarks on behalf of the Minister of Labour, Small and Micro Enterprise Development, Permanent Secretary Natalie Willis said cooperatives continue to transform lives, strengthen communities and build more resilient nations.
She stressed that cooperative enterprises are not institutions of the past, but are well-positioned to meet the challenges of the future.
