De­spite ex­press­ing dis­ap­point­ment over her treat­ment by po­lice in­ves­ti­ga­tors, at­tor­neys rep­re­sent­ing Ka­ia Sealy say she has noth­ing to hide and will con­tin­ue to co­op­er­ate with au­thor­i­ties in the in­ves­ti­ga­tion in­to the Jan­u­ary po­lice-in­volved shoot­ing that re­sult­ed in her boyfriend’s death.

Speak­ing with re­porters at Pi­ar­co In­ter­na­tion­al Air­port around 2 am yes­ter­day, at­tor­ney Fay­ola Sandy said she was sur­prised to learn Sealy had been tak­en in­to cus­tody af­ter ar­riv­ing on a flight from Pana­ma at ap­prox­i­mate­ly 1.45 am.

Sandy de­scribed the po­lice han­dling of the mat­ter as dis­ap­point­ing, not­ing that of­fi­cers had pre­vi­ous­ly in­di­cat­ed a will­ing­ness to al­low Sealy to seek med­ical treat­ment be­fore pre­sent­ing her­self at the Tu­na­puna Po­lice Sta­tion for a vir­tu­al court ap­pear­ance.
