People’s National Movement (PNM) candidate for La Horquetta/Talparo Foster Cummings is confident he can beat United National Congress (UNC) candidate Phillip Watts in the April 28 general election.
Watts has been part of the PNM machinery in the constituency since the inception—2007—when the constituency was first created. He has knowledge of the PNM’s strengths, weaknesses, and knows the people in the constituency.
However, Cummings, Minister of Youth Development and National Service, does not believe this has changed the political equation, and he remains confident the PNM will retain the seat. “As a matter of fact, I feel that the margin of victory will be greater than it was in 2020,” he said.
