Chairman of the National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Ltd (NGC) Gerald Ramdeen has criticised the previous NGC board and former energy minister Stuart Young over what he described as years of delay in repairing a damaged 24-inch subsea gas pipeline.
Speaking at a news conference at NGC’s head office on Orinoco Drive, Point Lisas, yesterday, Ramdeen said the State company has now completed repairs to the critical pipeline after what he called “four-and-a-half years of protracted and inexplicable delays under the former administration”.
He said the delays resulted in more than US$277 million (TT$1.5 billion) in lost revenue.
