The Parliamentary Opposition is seeking a full briefing from the Government on the reported execution of a Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) between Jamaica and the United States.
Opposition Spokesperson on National Security, Fitz Jackson, has written to National Security and Peace Minister, Dr Horace Chang, requesting details on the agreement at the earliest opportunity.
The Opposition says the agreement raises important national security considerations and that its implications for Jamaica, as well as safeguards to protect the country's interests, should be clearly understood.
