Have mercy on me.
Coconut vendor Ravi Baboolal, who was slapped with a total of $19,000 in traffic fines on Sunday night, says he has no means of paying the penalties within the required one-month period, and is pleading with the authorities for leniency. The total amount of fines stems from six separate tickets issued for different traffic offences.
Baboolal, 39, of Friendship Village in Golconda, near San Fernando, said he earns maybe half the amount of the fines per month from his livelihood as a coconut vendor.
