Captain Don Polo has been appointed Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force.
Polo received his instrument of appointment from President Christine Kangaloo on Tuesday, after she was advised by Defence Minister Wayne Sturge who had consulted with Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, a release from the Defence Ministry stated.
His appointment as CDS came immediately following the revocation of the appointment of Air Vice Marshall Darryl Daniel, who held the post for the past eight years.
