A LAWSUIT arising from the collapse of the planned Burna Boy concert in 2022 has been thrown out by the High Court after a judge ruled that the claimant had no legal standing to bring the case when it was filed.

In a judgment deli­vered yesterday, Justice Jacqueline Wilson, KC, held that proceedings brought by Cash Money Brothers Promotions were legally invalid from the outset because the business sued as a company incorporated under the Companies Act when, in fact, no such company existed.

The ruling means the court never examined the substantive allegations surrounding the failed concert, which had been scheduled for the Queen’s Park Savannah in December 2022.
