Police are investigating the murder of a Valencia gardener whose body was discovered in his garden late Wednesday, after he failed to return home as usual.

The victim has been identified as 42-year-old Anthony Sankar of Oro Street, KP Lands, Valencia. Sankar left home around 11 a.m. on Wednesday to tend to his garden along LP #4 Valencia By-Pass Road. He typically returned home by 6 p.m.

When he did not return, his mother became concerned and gathered relatives and neighbours to form a search party. Around 8 p.m., she contacted police to report him missing and informed officers that he had been found dead in his garden.
