Chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce Guyana (BritCham), Faizal Khan, has underscored the vast opportunities available in Guyana for United Kingdom (UK)-based companies seeking to expand their global footprint and accelerate business growth. Speaking on Guyanaâs investment potential during a recent Energy Perspectives podcast, Khan encouraged UK firms to consider the country as a strategic destination, pointing to its rapid economic expansion and business-friendly environment.
âItâs never going to be more economically viable to invest in Guyana like right now. Guyana is moving at a fantastic rate. I think for me, the opportunities, of course, are growing, but so is the competition. So, if youâre serious about growing your industry and growing your business, then why not come to the fastest-growing economy in the world?â Khan noted. He said one of the key advantages that sets Guyana apart from other investment destinations is the absence of a language barrier, as both Guyana and the UK are English-speaking countries.
Moreover, he highlighted Guyanaâs rapidly expanding industries as prime investment opportunities, particularly in the oil and gas, tourism and agro-processing sectors. The BritCham head further expressed hope to see more Guyanese firms entering the UK market, noting that âIâd like to see more trade happening between the United Kingdom and Guyana, both ways. Iâd really like to see some Guyanese businesses growing their footprint in the United Kingdom.â
