A 49-year-old teacher was ordered to undergo a 14-day psychiatric evaluation after he was allegedly found with cocaine at St Julien Presbyterian School in Princes Town.
Police arrested the man, identified as Doman, on Tuesday. He has been teaching for 20 years. According to reports, officers on exercise in the Princes Town district responded to a call at the school. They searched Doman in an empty classroom and allegedly found 3.39 grams of cocaine in a knapsack he had with him.
During his virtual appearance before Master Kimitria Gray, Doman repeatedly ran his hand through his blond hair and pushed his head toward the screen. Gray asked his attorney, Petronilla Basdeo, whether she was able to take instructions from him. Basdeo requested a psychiatric evaluation, saying he had recently been discharged from a hospital’s psychiatric ward.
