A 49-year-old teacher was or­dered to un­der­go a 14-day psy­chi­atric eval­u­a­tion af­ter he was al­leged­ly found with co­caine at St Julien Pres­by­ter­ian School in Princes Town.

Po­lice ar­rest­ed the man, iden­ti­fied as Do­man, on Tues­day. He has been teach­ing for 20 years. Ac­cord­ing to re­ports, of­fi­cers on ex­er­cise in the Princes Town dis­trict re­spond­ed to a call at the school. They searched Do­man in an emp­ty class­room and al­leged­ly found 3.39 grams of co­caine in a knap­sack he had with him.

Dur­ing his vir­tu­al ap­pear­ance be­fore Mas­ter Kim­i­tria Gray, Do­man re­peat­ed­ly ran his hand through his blond hair and pushed his head to­ward the screen. Gray asked his at­tor­ney, Petron­il­la Bas­deo, whether she was able to take in­struc­tions from him. Bas­deo re­quest­ed a psy­chi­atric eval­u­a­tion, say­ing he had re­cent­ly been dis­charged from a hos­pi­tal’s psy­chi­atric ward.
