The Ministry of Homeland Security has launched an investigation into the report of a “disturbing immigration encounter” by a hearing-impaired US visitor at the Piarco International Airport last week.
Homeland Security Minister Roger Alexander added that enhanced training and sensitised programmes would be rolled out for all Immigration Officers.
In a press release today, the Ministry stated that the Minister and Ministry officials had met with the visitor, Shontice McKenzie.
