SOCA artiste Kimba Sorzano was today cleared of attempted rape and grievous sexual assault charges after the woman who accused him of the crimes failed to appear at his High Court trial.
The ruling came from Justice Gillian Scotland at the Hall of Justice in Port of Spain, where a nine-member jury was directed to return not guilty verdicts.
The case stalled from its outset last week when the State’s main witness did not attend court. Prosecutors indicated they were unable to locate the woman, whose testimony was central to the case.
