NaĀtionĀal CarĀniĀval ComĀmisĀsion (NCC) chairĀman PeĀter KanĀhai says there were no disĀcusĀsions with orĀganĀisĀers of the UlĀtiĀmate SoĀca ChamĀpiĀon (USC) beĀfore the 2026 ediĀtion of the comĀpeĀtiĀtion was shelved due to a lack of fundĀing.
SpeakĀing with Guardian MeĀdia yesĀterĀday, KanĀhai conĀfirmed that the eventās orĀganĀisĀers forĀmalĀly wrote to the MinĀistry of CulĀture and ComĀmuĀniĀty DeĀvelĀopĀment and copied the NCC on the corĀreĀsponĀdence.
As a reĀsult, he said, any deĀciĀsion on fundĀing would have had to origĀiĀnate from the MinĀistry of CulĀture.
