Tim CurÂry, a charÂacÂter acÂtor who creÂatÂed a gallery of deÂliÂcious, very loony vilÂlains for stage and screen, inÂcludÂing Dr. Frank-N-Furter in âThe Rocky HorÂror PicÂture Showâ and the smug concierge in âHome Alone 2: Lost in New York,â has died. He was 80.
CurÂry, who sufÂfered a stroke in 2012 that put him in a wheelÂchair, died WednesÂday at his home in Los AnÂgeÂles, acÂcordÂing to his longÂtime manÂagÂer and friend MarÂcia HurÂwitz. No cause was disÂclosed.
Known for his arch huÂmor, a putÂty-like face and gift with voicÂes, CurÂry earned three Tony nomÂiÂnaÂtions â for âSpaÂmalot,â âMy FaÂvorite Yearâ and âAmadeusâ â and an EmÂmy nod in 1994.
