6-y-o breaks Rubik’s Cube world record
A six-year-old girl has stunned the speedcubing world after solving a Rubik’s Cube in an average of just 4.27 seconds.
Chinese youngster Lian Yunzhi, nicknamed ‘Zhizhi’, broke the women’s 3x3 average world record twice this month at World Cube Association-certified competitions in Wuhan and Guangzhou, according to state broadcaster CCTV. She first posted an average time of 4.52 seconds before lowering the mark to 4.27 seconds. The averages were calculated from five solves, making Zhizhi the first female speedcuber to record an average below 4.5 seconds, CCTV reported.
