Treasury Division restores services after transformer failure

The Trea­sury Di­vi­sion has re­stored its op­er­a­tions fol­low­ing an elec­tri­cal dis­rup­tion caused by a blown trans­former on Fri­day, which dam­aged equip­ment and tem­porar­i­ly af­fect­ed crit­i­cal ser­vices, in­clud­ing the en­cash­ment of Gov­ern­ment cheques.

In a pub­lic ad­vi­so­ry is­sued on Sun­day, the di­vi­sion said tech­ni­cal pro­fes­sion­als had been work­ing con­tin­u­ous­ly to re­pair the dam­age and re­store the af­fect­ed sys­tems.

It said ser­vice ca­pa­bil­i­ty had been re­stored and cus­tomers could now re­sume con­duct­ing trans­ac­tions.
