Fireworks Ban And Increased Security Announced For Divali Nagar 2026

The sale of fireworks will be banned at Divali Nagar this year, as organisers move to strengthen safety measures ahead of the annual celebration.

NCIC President Dr Surujdeo Mangaroo said the decision was taken to minimise avoidable risks, safeguard lives and property, and ensure that Divali Nagar remains a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all patrons.

“This year, the National Council of Indian Culture will support the national call by the banning of sale of fireworks at Divali Nagar. This decision reflects our commitment to the safety and well-being of all our patrons, booth holders, performers, volunteers, families, and members of the wider community.”
