“We have nowhere else to go.”
This was the message posted by the Chaguaramas Military History and Aerospace Museum after the museum was notified by the Chaguaramas Development Authority (CDA), in a letter dated February 5, that it has to vacate the premises on which it operates by February 28, which is today.
The eviction letter, which was issued by general manager of the CDA Karen Clark-Rowley, threatened that if the museum failed to vacate the premises by today, it would seek legal recourse. The museum’s public relations officer, Kathy-Anne Edwards, told the Express in a phone interview yesterday that this was not the CDA’s first attempt to evict the museum. The museum, on its Facebook page, reported that it was presented with a similar notice from the CDA in October of last year.
