Detectives assigned to the St Ann Police Division have charged 51-year-old Conross Hylton, otherwise called ‘Rasta’ and ‘Spragga’, a higgler of Mammee Bay Estate in the parish in connection with the stabbing murder of a woman at Capture Land, Mammee Bay, on June 6.
The deceased has been identified as 34-year-old Jestice Howell, otherwise called ‘Nooks’, a vendor of Capture Land. Reports from the St Ann’s Bay police are that at 5 a.m., Hylton, who allegedly shared a previous relationship with Howell, visited her residence. Howell went outside to meet him, after which an altercation developed between the two. During the tussle, Hylton reportedly used a ratchet to stab her in the neck before fleeing the scene in a Toyota Hiace bus.
The police were alerted, and upon their arrival, Howell was found lying face down in a pool of blood along a dirt track. She was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. On Monday, at 6 p.m., Hylton turned himself in to the police in the company of his attorney. He was subsequently arrested and charged.
