Homi­cide in­ves­ti­ga­tors are await­ing le­gal ad­vice from the Of­fice of the Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tions as they con­sid­er charges in the killing of Ce­dros crick­eter and sales mer­chan­dis­er Rashme Deoa­jit.

A 47-year-old man from Her­mitage Vil­lage in San Fer­nan­do was de­tained over the week­end af­ter be­ing picked up by po­lice in Cou­va.

He was sub­se­quent­ly in­ter­viewed by of­fi­cers from the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions as en­quiries con­tin­ue in­to the cir­cum­stances sur­round­ing Deoa­jit’s death.
