Trinidad and Tobago’s participation in the Shield of the Americas initiative could provide security support to address drug trafficking, but also raises questions about foreign policy alignment and sovereignty, analysts have said.

On March 7, United States President Donald Trump signed a proclamation during the Shield of the Americas Summit at Trump National Doral Miami.
