Ramadan will begin at sunset on Wednesday, according to an update issued by the ASJA Hilal Committee.
Imam Yacoob Ali said the birth of the new moon will take place at 8am on Tuesday, which corresponds with the 29th day of Sha’baan. He stated that at sunset on Tuesday the moon will be 10 hours and 17 minutes old and cannot be seen anywhere in the world.
Imam Yacoob Ali said at sunset on Wednesday the moon will be 34 hours and 18 minutes old and will be visible from India westward.
