Unit­ed Na­tion­al Con­gress (UNC) Cou­va South can­di­date Bar­ry Padarath has de­scribed the reap­pear­ance of for­mer Prime Min­is­ter Dr Kei­th Row­ley on Peo­ple’s Na­tion­al Move­ment (PNM) plat­forms as a “sign of des­per­a­tion.”

Dur­ing a walk­a­bout in Ex­change De­vel­op­ment and the Cou­va Mar­ket, Padarath told Guardian Me­dia that the PNM is scram­bling as the gen­er­al elec­tion draws near.

“Right now, it’s a mad scram­ble in the PNM be­cause their po­lit­i­cal backs are against the wall,” Padarath said. “It’s a last-ditch ef­fort, in my re­spect­ful view, that the for­mer PM is now hit­ting the po­lit­i­cal stage, know­ing he has to hold the hand of the cur­rent PM in this po­lit­i­cal bat­tle.”
