National Queen of the Bands title holder Wendy Kalicharan who also, on multiple occasions, copped the title of San Fernando Queen of the Bands, has passed away.

Kalicharan died at her San Fernando home on Thursday, losing her battle with cancer.

Her daughter Ayana Kalicharan said that she was at her mother’s bedside, and was holding her hand, when she took her last breath at 1.30 p.m. “She passed away peacefully,” Ayana Kalicharan told the Express in a telephone interview.
