Small Island Developing States must move past traditional boundaries and build the institutional capacity to anticipate global shocks if they are to thrive in an increasingly complex world.
That was the central message delivered by Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Innovation, Industry, Science and Technology (MIST), Claudette Hope-Greenidge, as she delivered the official welcome remarks at the opening of the inaugural Possibility Summit.
Addressing the gathering that included Prime Minister Mia Mottley, Cabinet ministers, and members of the international diplomatic and scientific communities, Hope-Greenidge emphasised that isolated approaches to governance and development are no longer viable.
