A magnitude 6.0 earthquake was recorded south of Barbados on Saturday afternoon, according to the University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre (UWI-SRC).
The quake struck at about 5:27 p.m. local time and was located roughly 100 kilometres south of Bridgetown. It occurred about 53 kilometres below the surface.
The seismic centre said the location is based on early automated data and may be updated after further review by scientists.
