University student suspected of drowning in St Elizabeth identified

ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — Police on Wednesday identified a university student whose body washed ashore in Treasure Beach on Tuesday, a day after he reportedly went missing while swimming.

He is Jalene Simpson, a Caribbean Maritime University student.

Simpson, who was visiting relatives in Treasure Beach, went swimming on Monday and got into difficulty when he was overcome by strong undertow.
