With FiĀnance MinĀisĀter DavĀenĀdranath TanĀcoo anĀnouncĀing the GovĀernĀmentās plan to beĀgin the promised pubĀlic secĀtor wage neĀgoĀtiĀaĀtions at ten per cent in fisĀcal 2026, some pubĀlic serĀvants are relĀishĀing the prospect of havĀing more monĀey to covĀer their exĀpensĀes.
AlĀthough the T&T UniĀfied TeachĀersā AsĀsoĀciĀaĀtion (TTUTA) and the Chief PerĀsonĀnel OfĀfiĀcer (CPO) signed off on a five per cent wage inĀcrease for the peĀriĀod 2020 to 2023 earĀliĀer this year, its presĀiĀdent, MarĀtin Lum Kin, welĀcomed TanĀcooās anĀnounceĀment. The Prison OfĀfiĀcers AsĀsoĀciĀaĀtion (POA) said memĀbers are cauĀtiousĀly opĀtiĀmistic.
The Joint Trade Union MoveĀment said it is āfulĀly conĀfiĀdentā in GovĀernĀment fulĀfillĀing its promisĀes, while the PubĀlic SerĀvices AsĀsoĀciĀaĀtion (PSA), which repĀreĀsents the bulk of pubĀlic serĀvants, exĀpressed its memĀbersā exĀciteĀment.
