(Kaieteur News) – A Sunday afternoon outing turned deadly for a Guyanese national after gunmen opened fire on him in Potters Village, Antigua, leaving him dead and an 18-year-old companion critically injured.

The dead man has been identified as 29-year-old Leandro Hubbard, who was also known as “Leo” or “Chiney Man.” Police said Hubbard was fatally shot opposite the Potters Primary School in what they believe may have been a targeted attack.

His companion, an 18-year-old man who was with him when the gunfire erupted, sustained multiple gunshot wounds and remains in critical condition at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre.
