Mayaro businesswoman Cassie-Ann Lemessy, who was gunned down near her home on Tuesday, had been receiving threats over an incident six months ago.
Lemessy, 41, had implemented security measures in her home to protect herself and her family, said a relative on Wednesday.
The relative, who did not wish to be identified and spoke to the Express on the phone, said the Lemessey family was grieving over her loss and her mother was distraught.
