Barbados to host international AI safety summit

Barbados will host an international summit on artificial intelligence (AI) safety on November 23, bringing together government officials, technology companies, scientists and civil society representatives to discuss global cooperation and access to the technology’s benefits.

The Bridgetown Special Summit on AI Safety will be attended by Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley and United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres.

Discussions will focus on how countries can better assess and manage AI risks, strengthen preparedness and ensure communities have a greater role in shaping the technology’s development.
