ST JAMES, Jamaica — The Granville Peace, Justice and Resource Development Foundation has strongly condemned the fatal police shooting of a woman in Granville Square on Sunday, describing the circumstances surrounding the incident as “questionable”.
The deceased has been identified as Latoya Bulgin, affectionately known as “Buju”, a mother of two, businesswoman and resident of Gunns Drive in Granville, St James.
Reports are that Bulgin was among a group of residents protesting the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Tjey Edwards when she was shot while seated behind the steering wheel of a Toyota Voxy in the community square. She later succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at hospital.
