SENATE President Wade Mark was called upon to break three tied votes in the Senate, in favour of the government, before the Senate passed the Children's Life Fund Amendment Bill 2025 with amendments.
This happened during the committee stage of the Senate's sitting on June 23 after 7 pm.
At one point in the deliberations on the bill, Independent Senator Dr Desiree Murray proposed an amendment to the bill to replace the word "illness" with "condition" in the bill.
