Min­is­ter of Pub­lic Util­i­ties Bar­ry Padarath met with Pres­i­dent of bp Trinidad and To­ba­go David Camp­bell and Vice Pres­i­dent of Com­mu­ni­ca­tions and Ex­ter­nal Af­fairs Ryan Chaitram last Thurs­day.

The meet­ing fo­cused on up­dates from bpTT re­gard­ing cur­rent and fu­ture ini­tia­tives in the en­er­gy sec­tor. The com­pa­ny out­lined progress on its gas de­vel­op­ment plans and high­light­ed its role in deep­wa­ter ex­plo­ration with key in­dus­try stake­hold­ers.

bpTT al­so dis­cussed the Brechin Cas­tle So­lar Project, a col­lab­o­ra­tion with Shell and the Na­tion­al Gas Com­pa­ny. The project is sched­uled to be­gin op­er­a­tions lat­er in 2025 and is po­si­tioned as a sig­nif­i­cant ad­di­tion to the coun­try’s re­new­able en­er­gy ef­forts.
