OPPOSITION MP for Port of Spain South Keith Scotland, SC, is calling on Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar to make her claims against him outside the protection of parliamentary privilege regarding the handling of the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission’s (T&TEC) claim against Flavorite Foods Ltd.
He yesterday described her statements as “very egregious attacks” on his professional character and denied any wrongdoing in the handling of T&TEC’s claim against Flavorite. The Prime Minister made the claims in the House of Representatives during the motion to adopt the report of the Standing Finance Committee.
Speaking to reporters outside Parliament in Port of Spain and flanked by Opposition members, Scotland said, “The Prime Minister, in the Parliament chamber under the shield of parliamentary privilege, made some very egregious attacks on my professional character.”
