Nearly four years after his death, pioneering Caribbean journalist Rickey Singh has remained a powerful presence in hemispheric media circles, as leading journalists gathered on the margins of the 56th OAS General Assembly in Panama on Monday to discuss a new initiative bearing his name.
Initiated by outgoing Special Rapporteur for Freedom of Expression of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), Pedro Vaca, the “Rickey Singh Initiative for Journalistic Excellence in the Americas” was explored by hemispheric media leaders.
