(Kaieteur News) – Prime Minister Brigadier (Ret’d), Mark Phillips said containers of humanitarian relief supplies destined for earthquake-stricken Venezuela, are currently being prepared.
The prime minister who was joined by private sector representative Mr. Komal Singh and Director-General of the Civil Defence Commission, Colonel Nazrul Hussain on Wednesday visited the John Fernandes Limited Container Terminal, where they observed the packing of several containers.
The prime minister on his Facebook page, said the ongoing exercise forms part of Guyana’s national response to support communities affected by the recent earthquakes in Venezuela. The containers are being packed with essential items, including rice, in a manner intended to support efficient distribution upon arrival.
