A Moruga man was hospitalised after he allegedly accidentally ingested a poisonous substance on Saturday.

Police were told that the 31-year-old man accidentally drank a weedicide instead of his drinking water.

A police report stated that around 3 p.m., the man was at home in St Mary’s spraying weedicide in his backyard when he drank from his water bottle, which was a similar bottle to the one containing the weedicide.
