One day after he was appointed Prime Minister, Stuart Young stunned the nation by ringing the election bell.
The date is April 28.
His prime ministership could be the shortest prime ministerial stint in history—lasting one month and ten days—unless the PNM is returned to office at the polls. The 12th Parliament stood dissolved at midnight last night. It will be a short, fierce campaign. Even though the election is 40 days away, the campaign in reality is less than that because of the number of holidays falling during that period.
