A new chapter in Caribbean Premier League (CPL) history unfolds this evening as the Jamaica Kingsmen, the tournament’s newest franchise, make their much-anticipated debut against the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons at the Arnos Vale Ground in St Vincent.

With the first ball set for 7 p.m. Jamaica time, the Kingsmen are eager to stamp their authority on the league from the outset, carrying the hopes of a nation that has been without a CPL team since the Jamaica Tallawahs folded in 2023.

“Everything has been going well so far. I’m happy to be here,” said Kingsmen batsman Keacy Carty ahead of the clash. “It’s a change in environment for me, and so far, the guys have been very welcoming. We’ve been working hard, and tomorrow (today) is the first game, and we’re just going to try and put our best foot forward.”
