Tabaquite Secondary School student Renalon Villafana has secured the top spot in the 2025 edition of the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition (QCEC).
The 16-year-old won gold in the senior category for his essay “The Haunting Tales of Claxton Bay”.
Hosted by the Royal Commonwealth Society, the QCEC invites submissions from its 56 member countries for essays in two categories: senior—entrants between the ages of 14 and 18; and junior—entrants under 14 years.
