A National Sports Hall of Fame, a commemorative stamp and a national holiday in honour of Sir Garfield Sobers are among proposals being advanced to preserve the National Heroâs legacy, Minister of Sport Charles Griffith told Parliament on Friday.
Griffith said the proposed Hall of Fame would give Barbadians and visitors an opportunity to explore the achievements of the islandâs sporting greats through interactive exhibits, including QR codes linking to information on Sir Garfield and other national sporting heroes.
âI believe that the time is right for us to be able to have that Hall of Fame on the landscape in this country,â Griffith said.
